Long Term Conditions Reviews
From 1 4 2021 we are offering a new service . If you have Long Term Condition such as Asthma, Chronic obstructive Pulmonary Disease , Diabetes , Mental health, Learning Disability or Hypertension etc ( or a combination of these) then you shall be offered a combined long term condition review as near to your birthday month as possible.
This clinic is run by our specially trained nurse to review, monitor and support patients with long term conditions . The clinic includes regular diagnostic tests along with dietary and exercise advice. A review and assessment of your medication will also take place in clinic.
NHS Health Checks
The NHS Health Check is a check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74. It can help spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. Each year a cohort of patients are invited to take part in this programme, however, if you would like one please call us to book a half hour appointment
Smoking Cessation
Our nurses and HCA are able to offer advice on smoking cessation, and where appropriate prescribe medication. Please contact reception to book an appointment.
Cervical Screening
Bradford has a higher than average % of cancer diagnosis . Cervical screening is an important test that is available to women. Smear tests are carried out by trained practice nurses. You will be sent a reminder when your smear is due – please do not ignore it as cervical cancer , if caught early is entirely treatable.
If you would prefer a late evening appointment between 6 pm – 9 pm this can be arranged through the extended access service – just ask at Reception. Please notes these appointments will not be at Rockwell or Wrose but offered at Moorside Surgery – occasionally it will be our own nurse on duty
Family Planning
A comprehensive service is available within normal surgery times by appointment.
Sexual Health
This confidential clinic is run by Dr’s Mills and Bhat and offers a full sexual health service for both men and women. Appointments can be booked through reception.
Antenatal and Maternity
Patients can now self refer to the midwives click on the link

New maternity services finder
A new maternity services finder is now available on NHS.UK to help people self-refer directly into maternity services to start NHS pregnancy care
Antenatal clinic is held at each branch by the community midwife. The doctors see antenatal patients in their normal surgeries should they have any concerns.

Dermatology
Rockwell and Wrose Practice is a host site for Trust Primary Care Dermatology – seeing patients from across Bradford with dermatological problems. A referral is needed into this service by a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
ECG
We are accredited for performing ECG’s in the surgery. Claire Hern our Advance Nurse Practitioner has a Cardiology Diploma and is our Clinical Lead for interpretation.
Spirometry
Spirometry and FEV1 are available as part of our asthma/copd monitoring and diagnosis . If you should need either of these you will be contacted and an appointment made for you.
Physio First
Physiotherapist on site at both branches several times per week. If you have a NEW onset of muscular, joint or back problems speak to one of our receptionists and they can book you an appointment ( either face to face or telephone) with an experienced Physiotherapist for an initial assessment (over 18’s only).
Wellbeing Worker – also known as Social Prescriber
If you are struggling with any of the following
- Low mood, anxiety or stress
- Debt
- Family Crisis ( carer strain, parenting, relationship breakdown etc)
- Weight management or diets
- Looking after your physical and mental health
- Bereavement
- Housing
- Or just want someone to talk to
Please make an appointment with Janet Menehbi or Poonam Joshi who is widely experienced and has access to every social and health network. We have 100% positive feedback from those patients who have been to Janet and Poonam for help and advice. Direct booking, just ask at reception. First appointments are one hour long which allows plenty of time to talk without being rushed. Face to Face or telephone options available
TRAVEL IMMUNISATIONS
Patients are invited to request a telephone appointment with our nurse before planning any journeys abroad to allow time to discuss travel vaccination. We are able to offer a broad range of travel vaccinations on site and most are free of charge, however for some long haul and third world countries we will signpost to an official travel clinic such as MASTA https://www.masta-travel-health.com/
